EyesOpen! is a non profit association born from an idea of Manuela Cigliutti, photoeditor, and Barbara Silbe, journalist and photographer. They decided to give birth to a new format in the photographic market, to take care about new talents. The final result is a product with many faces transformed also in a quarterly publication. The aim of the paper magazine is to spread photographic culture through iconographic and literary contributions of photographers, writers, critics and journalists, while the namesake non profit association will promote international young talents work and will find connections inside the authors community.
The exclamation point in their name talks about enthusiasm and is an exhortation to keep our eyes always opened to face what we have in front of us, to focus on how to look and think using the power of images.
In these paper or virtual spaces, they are going to talk about photography in a simple and together caught way, because in these times this young art seems to be so public thanks to digital technology and social network, indeed it is more difficult the deep knowledge of its grammar. Paradoxically, the link between thinking and seeing has become weaker. They will try to fill these gaps. Photography is, after all, an art within the reach of many, if not of all. It is something preserving our memory and that makes us observe things never seen before.
