Michael Ernest Sweet is an award-winning writer and street photographer. His first full-length collection of street photography is forthcoming this year from Brooklyn Arts Press. In 2014 Thumbnail Press will be releasing Michael’s second book featuring his iconic images from the beaches of Coney Island. Michael’s work is widely published and has been featured in Popular Photography Magazine, The Evergreen Review, Thumbnail Magazine, Reed Magazine among others, as well as online at places like the Leica Camera Blog, Canadian Photography Online and Top Photography Films.
Michael Sweet also has over a hundred publications in print spanning the genres of photography, poetry, short fiction, drama, journalism and education. He is a national recipient of a Prime Minister’s Award and the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in Canada for significant contributions to his country in the fields of education and the arts. In 2008 he was appointed to the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and is currently serving his second term.
Michael Sweet divides his time between homes Montreal and New York City.
