New Buildings: the new prize offered by Matrix4design

We are glad to announce a new partnership between URBAN Photo Awards and Matrix4Design, a digital magazine founded in 2016, which has soon become a landmark in the world of architecture and design. This new partner is always able to tune in to the new, up-to-date tendencies of the project and has a curious attitude towards the changes of the urban landscape.
URBAN Photo Awards and Matrix4design share the same feeling and approach to the world of art and photography. Therefore, we decided to establish a new partnership, with the aim to introduce a special prize in the contest, dedicated to the photos representing some of the symbols of architecture that have helped change the look of the city over the past ten years. That is, contemporary architectural photography, focused on new and super new constructions, on the brilliant minds of the starchitects, on the buildings that reshape the skylines of big cities and change the look of neighborhoods.
If you wish to enter the competition, you will only have to add the tag New Buildings (Matrix4design prize) to the Single Photos running in the category SPACES. Pictures will be judged by Matrix4design editor Andrea Boni and by the photographer Federica Nardese, who will select a short list of the best photos and the absolute winner.
The winning photo will be displayed in the exhibition of URBAN winners and will be published in the photo book URBAN unveils the city and its secrets – Vol. 06, containing the best pictures of the 2020 edition of the contest. The author will be hosted for two nights in Trieste, during Trieste Photo Days festival 2020, in order to attend the prize giving ceremony. Moreover, Matrix4design will also publish an interview with the author.
