[Spain] Born in Madrid in 1962, Olga de Frutos graduated from the Universidad Complutense with a BA in Spanish Language and Literature, followed by a MA in Documentation Studies. Driven by a long life interest in the storytelling potential of images, she gradually specialized in photographic documentation. She has held positions as picture editor for international publishers such as Bauer, Hachette Filipacchi and currently Hearst Magazines. Her present media outlet, Quo Magazine, is the third most read popular science magazine in Spain and has always been an exceptional showcase for the cutting-edge techniques of science imaging and photography. Olga feels compelled to show the ever increasing complexity of this field, which also has drawn her to act as a jury in contests such as Fotciencia, organized by the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).
