We want to remember our last year’s URBAN Photo Award winners.
The 2023 Winners were announced and awarded live at the URBAN Photo Awards ceremony, Saturday 28 October 2023 at the Auditorium of the Museo Revoltella, as part of the 10th edition of Trieste Photo Days 2023 – Internationl Festival of Urban Photography.
Russian photographer Natalya Saprunova with the shot “Going to save themselves from the abnormal heat” won as Overall Winner of URBAN Photo Awards 2023, chosen by the president of the jury Alec Soth among all the first ranked in the Streets, People, Spaces and Creative categories in the Single Photos section. She was also crowned as “TPD Best Author”, an award given to the photographer who collected most prizes in the entirety of the Trieste Photo Days festival.
Andre Ramos Palacios (Spain) won in the Streets category with his photo “Though life”, Natalya Saprunova (Russia) the People category with “Going to save themselves from the abnormal heat”; Graziano Panfili (Italy) took first prize in the Spaces category with “Ortona” while Andre Boto (Portugal) won in the Creative category with her photo “The false illusion.”
“The Post-industrial Rust Belt“, by American photographer Andrew Borowiec won the Projects&Portfolios section, and the first edition of the URBAN Press Award went to Polish author Krzysztof Bednarskiwith his project Parisian Night Stories. CAFUNÉ by Spanish photographer Rafael Fabrés gained the URBAN Book Award. The contest URBAN Photo Arena saw Romain Miot triumphant with the shot “Becoming an adult”.
Special Prizes
Awarded also the selected authors for the prize-exhibitions at the Sartorio Museum: Andrea Bettancini – The Failure of Reason; Giovanni Sacco – Memento Mori, Alain Schroeder – Lelo, and Martina D’Agresta – Tempra. For at the Poreč Museum in Croatia Francesco Aglieri Rinella was selected with “Nowhere to go but Everywhere”. German photographerMartin Wacker was the winner of the Icons of Architecture Special Prize offered by Matrix4Design, with the photo Bierpinsel.
