Denis Curti as Special Juror
Denis Curti is a renowned figure in the photography world. He currently holds numerous prestigious roles: Artistic Director of Le Stanze della Fotografia in Venice, Director of the photography gallery STILL in Milan. He is artistic director of several photography festivals, including those in Capri and Montefano, and the online publication Black Camera, and the artistic director of Deloitte’s PhotoGrant. From 2018 to 2022, he led the magazine IL FOTOGRAFO and was previously the director of Contrasto – Milan and vice president of the Forma Foundation in Milan.
Curti curated exhibitions for notable photographers like Elliott Erwitt and Robert Capa and directed artistic projects for major companies. He has written multiple books on photography, including “Collecting Photography” and “Understanding Contemporary Photography.” An expert in photography auctions, he curated Sotheby’s first photography auctions in Milan in the early 2000s and directed the Italian Foundation for Photography from 1995 to 2002.

Patricia’s Journey
Patricia was born in Oakland, California, and grew up in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Ingraham High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama from the University of Washington, a Master of Science in Education from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Methodist University. She received a Mid-America Arts Alliance/National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Photography in 1991, and taught photography at Tarrant County College in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While there, she led numerous groups of students on study abroad trips to Europe, South America, and Cuba. For many, it was their first time leaving the state of Texas.
Her work can be found in several museum collections, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Birmingham Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian Institution. She also exhibits her work internationally and her work will be featured in the Trieste Photo Days Festival in October. She took a sabbatical for the 2016-2017 school year, where she worked on a special photography project in Cuba.
