Italian photojournalist Francesco Cito will choose the URBAN Book Award winner!

We are honored to host in the URBAN Photo Awards 2021 jury Francesco Cito, one of the greatest Italian photojournalists, who for forty years has been describing the war theaters around the world (including Afghanistan in 1980, the Gulf War in 1990 and many others).

Francesco Cito will be part of a “super-commission” of jurors and will personally choose the winner of the URBAN Book Award section. Besides him, President of the Jury Bruce Gilden will choose the Winner of the Single Photos section and will select the projects for the “Bruce Gilden Special Prize” book. Next week we’re going to announce the third juror of the commission (get ready for another world-class photographer!), who will choose the Winner of the Projects & Portfolios section.

URBAN Book Award aims to give the winning photographer the opportunity to produce and promote their authorial photographic project internationally, which will be published as a paper volume by dotART / URBAN and officially presented during Trieste Photo Days 2021.

If you feel the limit of 12 photos set for the Projects & Portfolios section as a restraint, this is the section where you can propose larger projects conceived as “dummies”, or rather drafts of photographic books, whether they are pdf with the defined framework, or sequences of photos.

In October Francesco Cito, who is also involved in the Mythography I collective project, will be among the guests at the URBAN awards ceremony during Trieste Photo Days festival, in Italy, where he will personally award the winner of the Book Award and hold an unmissable talk with the public.
