Massimo Giacon

Massimo Giacon was born in Padua, Italy, in 1961. From 1980 he worked in Milan suspended between its different activities of cartoonist, illustrator, designer, artist and musician. Star since the early 80s of the renewal of Italian comic originating from magazines like Frigidaire, Alter, Dolce Vita, Cyborg and Nova Express, began collaborating in 1985 with the architectural firm Sottsass and Associates, continuing its activities in collaboration with designers Matteo Thun, Studio Mendini, Sieger Design, and projects for Olivetti, Memphis, Artemide, Alessi, Swatch, Philips, Ritzenhoff, Telecom. In 1990 begins an artistic activity that has resulted in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy, Switzerland, America, Greece and Portugal.
In 1994 he began to work on graphics for computer networks, websites, and CD-rom. After a decade of musical activities with different groups (Spirocheta Pergoli, The Grandchildren of the Pharaoh), in 1996 he released his first solo album “Horror Vacui”, in 2003, her second, “The Ideal City.” He also designed tapestries, rugs, pottery, kitchen items, produced illustrations for advertising, working with designers and fashion magazines (Romeo Gigli, Elle, Glamour), made preparations for international exhibitions and events for television. He teaches at the European Institute of Design in Milan. He is currently continuing the design and production of various objects for Alessi, drawing comics for Rabbit Publisher, XL (Repubblica), continuing its activities with the music group The Blass and performative artistic collaborations with various galleries. He published “Love Me”, a book he created with writer Tiziano Scarpa. Is designing a collection of ceramics and SuperEgo has just released the first book of his graphic novel with Mimi Colucci: “Boy Rocket” for Black Velvet publisher. Lucca Comics & Games 2011 features “La quarta necessita”, screenplay by Daniel Luttazzi, Rizzoli editions Lizard / RCS Publisher.
