Three portfolios from URBAN 2018 Photo Awards displayed in Poreč Museum (Croatia)
Tuesday, August 7 2018 at 8.00 PM will open the collective exhibit at the Porec Museum (Croatia) with 3 selected portfolios from URBAN 2018 Photo Awards. Projects has been selected by Museum’s director and URBAN Juror Elena Uljančić-Vekić.
Gentle Appearances In Tokyo Metropolis – Mitja Kobal (Slovenia)
A series of journeys to the Japanese capital have become the author’s street photographic project about the “gentle solitude and quiet loneliness of the inhabitants”.
Stray Dog – Sevil Alkan (Turkey)
A long term black and white project that aims to walk on between street and conceptual photography. A serie that dwells on Istanbul and people, animals, objects on its streets.
Urban Faces and Fragments – Paolo Maggi (Italy)
Faces and fragments of urban territories drawn from their context and associated in the form of a diptych, in which original ties between people and their environment are broken.
The three selected authors will be awarded by the director of the Museum at the final ceremony of URBAN 2018 on Saturday, October 27 at 20 during Trieste Photo Days festival.
Exhibit will be open until September 14th, 2018. Opening hours: Monday – Sunday 10.00-21.00.
Last year the Museum has displayed “Nothing will stop us”, by Mexican photographer Silvia Andrade, “Nonna Angela” (“Grandma Angela”), by Italian photographer Christian Milotic and “A Transporting Experience: Senegal’s Colorful Public Buses Hit The Road” by American photographer Ricci Shryock. In 2016 the Museum has displayed the projects “Kushti”, by Belgian photographer Alain Schroeder, “Cidade da Garoa”, by Italian Luca Meola and “Passage”, by Turkish Alphan Yilmazmaden.
