URBAN 2018 Photo Awards, new deadline: June 17!
€ 7,000 total prize value – Exhibits in Porec Museum, Croatia, and Trieste Photo Days, Italy
New deadline for URBAN 2018 Photo Awards, international contest organized by Italian cultural association dotART. Photos and projects can be submitted until Sunday, June 17, 2018 at 23.59 CET.
The highest placing works with be published on the competition’s website and will be displayed in a collective exhibit on October/November 2018, in Trieste during Trieste Photo Days festival. The total prize value has now reached € 7,000 thanks to URBAN’s international partners.
Main partner Poreč Museum (Istria, Croatia) will offer a 1.000 € value prize for 3 ranked projects from the “Projects & Portfolios” section. The projects will be selected directly by the curators of the museum and displayed from August 7 to September 14, 2018 (tourist peak averaging 120,000 people in the summer time).
Now in its ninth edition, URBAN sees every year thousands of participating pictures and hundreds of participants from all over the world. It is an always growing international contest, one of the very few that goes “over the boundaries” of Internet offering to photographers real visibility through dozens of international photo exhibitions. Only in 2017 URBAN realized 36 exhibitions displaying about 800 pictures. Behind it all, there is always the pursue of enhancement of photographic talent and quality.
Works will be selected by a prestigious Jury composed by Tatsuo Suzuki (Jury President, multi-awarded Japanese street photographer), Elena Uljančić-Vekić (director of Poreč Museum, Croatia), Tadashi Onishi (Japanese street photographer, TPD 2017 Book Award winner), Ania Klosek (Polish street photographer ), Angelo Cucchetto (Trieste Photo Days art director), Rathika Ramsamy (Indian naturalist photographer), Rohit Vohra (one of Asia’s most prominent street photographers, co-founder of APF magazine), Pepe Castro (Spanish photographer), Barbara Silbe (co-founder and editor of EyesOpen! Magazin), Gabi Ben Avraham (Israeli street photographer), Diego Orlando (Burn magazine art director), Bob Patterson (Street photographer Magazine editor), Fulvio Merlak (italian photography critic), Adrian Mirgos (Polish photographer), Felipe Abreu (photographer and editor of Revista OLD), Olga de Frutos (Quo Magazine editor), Silvio Mencarelli (Italian photographer and journalist), Maja Briski (art critic and independent curator).
As Jury President, Tatsuo Suzuki will choose and award URBAN 2018 Winner at the end of October during Trieste Photo Days 2018, international photography festival organized by dotART.
