URBAN 2018 Winners Photographers announced

After a great summer of international exhibit previews, we are finally happy to announce the winning pictures and portfolios of URBAN 2018 Photo Awards.

As announced, this year we decided to not reveal immediately the Single Pictures ranking: Winners are therefore published in alphabetical order. We will unveil the final podium together with Jury President Tatsuo Suzuki directly at the URBAN’s Award Ceremony on Saturday, October 27, 2018 during Trieste Photo Days.

Instead, we can already announce the final ranking of the “Projects & Portfolios” section.

  • 1st – Alain Schroeder (Belgium) – “Brick Prison”
  • 2nd – Giedo Van Der Zwan (Netherlands) – “Pier To Pier”
  • 3rd – Sara Munari (Italy) – “Be The Bee Body Be Boom, Est East (Bidibibodibibu)”
  • Honorable Mention – Sevil Alkan (Turkey) – “Stray Dog”
  • Honorable Mention – Stefano Lista (Italy) – “On Board”
  • Honorable Mention – Sandro Di Camillo (Italy) – “Via Rupta”

Winners will share a € 7,000 prize value, among other prizes offered by our partners. Their pictures will also be published on prestigious international online photo magazines.

Among the prizes, there has been a prestigious exhibit (in August) at the Porec Museum (Croatia) for 3 ranked portfolios: “Gentle Appearances In Tokyo Metropolis” by Slovenian photographer Mitja Kobal, “Stray Dog” by Sevil Alkan (Turkey) and “Urban Faces and Fragments” by Paolo Maggi (Italy).

In addition, a selection of single images and projects will compose the fourth edition of “Urban Unveils the City and its Secrets”, that will be presented at the Trieste Photo Days, before the award ceremony.

URBAN 2018 has seen 4,460 photos and 272 portfolios for 1,103 participants from all over the world.
