Maja Tabea Jerrentrup is professor of media & photography at Ajeenkya DY Patil University (Pune, India), senior faculty member of India Institute of Photography (Noida / Delhi), and further works as a photographer and photo journalist, is Nikon ambassador and Adobe partner. With her background as a cultural anthropologist, she focuses on people photography, both staged and documentary.
During the last ten years, she has given workshops and lectures all over the world, e.g. in Italy, Morocco, Italy, Cuba, Jamaica, Brazil, China, Colombia, Morocco, etc., taught practical photography in its various facets and focussed on “photopsychology”, a project she is pursuing with her international team. Maja’s current research a.o. refers to the expression of identity through photography and the potential of photography to increase people’s well-being.
