Tatsuo Suzuki will be URBAN 2018 Photo Awards Jury President
We’re happy to announce that Japanese photographer Tatsuo Suzuki will be the Jury President of URBAN Photo Awards ninth edition.
Tatsuo Suzuki is born in 1965 and lives in Tokyo. Started shooting in 2008. He has won a lot of international awards, including The Fence (Street Category) and The Independent Photographer Competition, in 2017, Steidl Book Award Japan and ND Awards (Street Category), in 2016. Finalist in San Francisco Street photo contest, Miami Street Photography Contest and LensCulture Street Photography Awards. His photos has been displayed in Shanghai, Tokio and London. His aim to shoot the street is to show how the world is beautiful, interesting, wonderful and sometimes cruel. His also works supporting the people with intellectual disabilities in their group home.
Tatsuo Suzuki will be the main guest at Trieste Photo Days fifth edition. During the festival he will choose and award URBAN 2018 Winner on October 27th, 2018. Suzuki will also held a special photography workshop in Trieste Photo Days.
Among confirmed jurors: Japanese photographer Tadashi Onishi (winner ot TPD book Award 2017 and also guest in Trieste Photo Days 2018), Elena Uljančić-Veki (director of Poreč Museum, Croatia), Angelo Cucchetto (founder of Photographers.it and Trieste Photo Days art director) and Fulvio Merlak (Italian photographer and critic). More jurors will be announced shortly.
Submissions open from February 14th to May 31st, 2018. The total prize money is more than € 5,000 (€ 1,000 each for the Winner Overall and the winning portfolio).
